Comment:
The sensor of the 1D X is a milestone in the history of Canon. Not only is it the best sensor the company ever made, it also proves that Canon's sensor
technology can hold its own among the likes of Nikon and Sony. Color
range is still not on par with competitors, but it's not bad either, and the
rest is right up there with the best sensors currently available. Performance is
still behind the competition when it comes to utmost image quality at base ISO,
but that's not really an issue for this ultra-fast readout medium resolution
sensor designed for photojournalism and low-light work. It's a very good sensor
worthy of being in Canon's flagship action body.
